Garbage container, Contenur
Contenur set out to redesign its 2200L and 3200L urban waste containers, manufactured using injection-molded polypropylene (PP). The project aimed to improve functionality, accessibility, and visual integration into the urban landscape.
The containers feature two differentiated access systems:
User side (pedestrian-facing):
Positioned toward the sidewalk, this side includes a foot pedal for easy opening and a dedicated handle for users with reduced mobility. Each container is color-coded (yellow, green, brown) according to the waste type for intuitive use.
Collection side (vehicle-facing):
This side does not use color coding, allowing it to remain in a neutral grey tone. This minimizes the container’s visual impact and helps it blend harmoniously into the urban setting—matching pavement and asphalt tones.
This dual-access design balances usability, efficiency, and aesthetic discretion, offering a solution tailored to both city dwellers and collection systems.
